BRINDISI – Accident in via Umberto Maddalena in the Casale district of Brindisi: a man lost control of his car, a BMW 5 series station wagon, and crashed into a low wall of a house. He destroyed both the car and the wall. The driver ended up in hospital with a yellow code, slightly injured in the impact.
According to what has been reconstructed, after impacting against the wall, the car did not stop and continued its run for several meters, losing the right front wheel, the bumper and other bodywork components, before stopping its run sideways to the direction of travel on which he was proceeding, about fifty meters from the wall.
Moments of fear for the residents of the area alarmed by the loud noise of brakes and the bang of the collision. The local police, 118 and the Brindisi firefighters rushed to the scene to clear the road which was currently closed to traffic.
The police will acquire images from the surrounding cameras to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
