Emanuele Troisecoach of Rimini FC: “Faced with a result like this it is clear that we are disappointed. We must apologize to the fans who came to Gubbio, many of them arrived. It is our duty. I take responsibility for this, as always, because the message did not arrive directly that we would have found a strong, intense team, which in any case has many interpreters on its staff who can hurt you. They were more qualitative, more aggressive. In the first half they put pressure on us, then from a tactical point of view we gave up, ready to go, to use that condition that could have allowed us to push them out of gear and create something more. We didn’t do it. Then, in my opinion, even as time went by, in the first half the inertia changed a bit, we went into attack with danger, then lacking the malice that is needed in the last 20-25 metres. Credit also goes to Gubbio for the score of the first and third goals, the second in my opinion is significantly influenced by a foul on Megelaitis. But, having said this, I repeat: we take responsibility, we close ourselves in there as we have always done all year to try to prepare for a week, because today we saw once again concretely what awaits us on Saturday”.
The director of Gubbio said that he expects another Rimini in the play offs and that the date of the play off match is most likely destined to be postponed. “These are considerations that make you understand even more that on the other side there is an opponent who is attentive to everything. I hope it’s another match because it’s clear that I didn’t like tonight’s defeat, the way it happened, with the fact that they attacked us, they hurt us in every sense from a footballing and competitive. Their consideration must also increase our preparation regardless of whether the game is played on Saturday rather than next Wednesday or I don’t know when. However, I repeat, in the face of such a result, there are few words. Apologies go to our fans. And we must take responsibility because we certainly must have the ability, as we have done many times in difficult times, to prepare a different match.”
However, this team has always shown that it knows how to react. “Yesterday I reiterated the seriousness and professionalism of this group. And I have no doubts about this. From the final whistle tonight they realized what awaits them. And therefore, regardless of the result that will come out because credit must be given to an important opponent, I am sure that they will prepare a different match.”
