The Orogel Stadium-Dino Manuzzi match didn’t have much to say. The hosts, with the mathematical certainty of promotion to the BKT series, wanted to leave in the best possible way, possibly equaling Catanzaro’s historical points record for 2022-2023. Grifo, for its part, had minimal chances of passing as the best fourth of the three groups of Serie C but with its mind already on the playoffs. Suffice it to say that Formisano leaves all those within a booking in Perugia.

Thus the classic end-of-season match emerges where the red and whites aim, above all, not to get hurt, both physically (even if the intensity and commitment were not lacking) and in terms of ‘turnover’ of goals against. While the hosts want to end the golden season in the best possible way. It ends with the classic 2-0 for Cesena, the result of a goal by Prestia in the 18th minute of the first half and a penalty, actually very generous, scored by Corazza, who thus reaches double figures, in the 36th minute.

On the Perugia side, only the attempts of Agosti, Kouan and the very young Ronchi need to be recorded, but they don’t put much effort into the Cesena goalkeeper, son of greats, Jonathan Lee Klinsmann, heir to the great German striker Jurgen. At the end there was plenty of space on both sides for the young players of the Primavera team and at the final whistle the Cesena party, in a blaze of black and white flags, with the award ceremony for the victory in group B of the 2023-2024 series C and with the satisfaction of having equaled the category points record

Perugia attended with participation, giving due praise to a team that cannibalized the tournament. But as mentioned, our minds are already on May 7th and the first playoff match. A Russian roulette without great expectations, at least for the Grifo seen in recent months, but as long as you’re in the game you have to dance.
