The historic merchant Angela Bonacchi died in Quarrata

QUARRATA – Angela Bonacchi, a historic merchant from Quarrata, died today at the age of 73 after a long illness. Together with her husband Giancarlo and her children, in 1996 she started the Oriental Caffè roasting company in Olmi but all she had was the merit of having opened the company shop right on Via Statale at number 240.

“That wasn’t just a shop or a company store but a real place of the heart. Upon entering you were welcomed by the scent of freshly roasted coffee at the back and above all by Angela’s smile who made you feel at home, with a kindness that is now rare”.

This was underlined by the Oriental Caffè staff, who added that “it was impossible to leave sad from his shop, which he looked after and followed like a living creature, with continuous ideas and creations, which had nothing to envy of the large city shops. But above all a magical atmosphere which was all thanks to her being so sweet and kind, that she remained in the hearts of everyone who met her, even if only fleetingly”.

Known and loved by all, Angela leaves behind her husband Giancarlo and her children Samuele and Sandro who continue the family business to this day.

The funeral will be held on Monday 29 April at 9.30 am at the church of San Sebastiano in Bottegone.
