LECCE

Ninety minutes of balance, two fireworks at the end of an afternoon that ultimately dissatisfies everyone, or no one. Monza does not go beyond the 1-1 draw at Via del Mare, home of the bête noire Lecce against whom they have never won in Serie A yet. A draw which, all things considered, is also good for Raffaele Palladino who found himself behind 92′ with a shot from Krstovic from the edge with the flavor of the effa. Ball in the centre, launch into the area and Venuti’s arm brings the coolness of captain Pessina to the spot: ball on one side, Falcone on the other and triple whistle.

There was no shortage of surprises at the start: Brianza on the pitch led by Colombo, who has a special relationship with Baschirotto, but not on the pitch. Difficult for the 9 Milan school to find light among the Salento towers. On the other hand, we need Pablo Marì as the best player on the pitch – together with Bondo – to defend himself tooth and nail from Krstovic and Piccoli, who in tandem can suddenly cause harm. The show on Saturday was certainly not in Lecce: more stomps in the middle of the field than shots towards the goals and opportunities that can be counted on the fingers of one hand. In sequence: Kyriakopoulos tries from outside going near the post, then Oudin finds the block Pablo Marì on a free kick. In the second half Krstovic closes a diagonal shot too much, then slips from the edge and doesn’t find the target; Colpani does worse by wasting the clearest opportunity by hitting badly on the turn. Then the goals, heavy because there was a lot at stake: Lecce adds a brick to safety, Monza loses two in the race for Europe. Bringing home spirit and reaction: yes.
