From 2 to 5 May Liquida Photofestival in Turin

In the spaces of Cavallerizza complex in Turin from 2 to 5 May 2024 the third edition of Liquida Photofestival arrives, the contemporary photography festival born in the setting of Paratissima, now one of the most popular Italian events of its kind.

This year’s theme is “REBIRTH”, and it takes the form of a attempt to investigate the infinite rebirths and re-inventions that can be experienced over the course of a lifetime: «Redefining ourselves, re-inventing ourselves, relocating ourselves within the dynamics of society and the relationship with ourselves: from purification to the rediscovery of one’s body and one’s identity – underlines Laura Tota, artistic director of the festival – REBIRTH outlines the space of possibilities that every day we can and must choose to be conscious entities on our journey.”

From 10:00 to 20:00 it will be possible to visit the installations that accommodate the photographic projects on display, but also participate in talks, awards and presentations.

Immersing yourself in the atmosphere of REBIRTH, the visitor ends up undertaking a introspective journeystarting from the cathartic and restorative power of the water of the placid portraits of the series Water by photographer Denisse Ariana Pérez, down to the delicacy of WhiteSandra Lazzarini’s project which asks us to perceive our own uneven skin as a canvas on which to build a dialogue with our body, in a redefinition and self-acceptance that disavows and sweeps away the stereotypes of contemporary beauty.
