Bergamo. He found the thieves in the house and fired a gunshot, wounding one of them.
It happened on Saturday evening 27 April in the Longuelo neighborhood of the city. According to the very first information, the homeowner, an 85-year-old retired financier, was attacked by two criminals and fired a single gunshot.
A State Police squad intervened on the scene and, shortly after the alarm received, stopped a 27-year-old Albanian man nearby, homeless in Italy, arrested for aggravated robbery. The accomplice, however, fled and lost track of himself.
The two criminals had entered the 85-year-old’s property around 9.30pm, threatening the homeowner with an unidentified object: the elderly man would then have defended himself by holding the gun and exploding a shot which put the two to flight and which was later discovered to have reached the 27-year-old’s neck, grazing him.
