MERATE. The Saints end the season with another victory, a clear 7-2 which has a certain significance because it was achieved against a Pordenone team, second in the rankings, and who will go on to play in the playoffs to access the top flight. The clubs begin with a conclusion from Carabellese that Paties raises above the bar. The guests respond, first with Della Bianca who Pulcini doesn’t risk catching, then with Chtioui whose shot hits the outside post.
The result broke the deadlock in the 12th minute, Grigolon collected a short clearance from the defense and scored with a razor. The match returns to a draw in the 18th minute thanks to Milani, a precise left foot that first catches the upright and then ends up in the net. Just enough time to resume the game and the overtaking also arrives with Montrasio’s goal which goes past the outgoing goalkeeper. After the break, goalkeeper Pulcini gives way to Laurara, in the 6th minute a praiseworthy initiative by Caruso which Paties saves with skill. The neroverdi restore parity in the 12th minute thanks to Finato, who recovers a rebound from Laura and scores from close range. A minute passes and the Meratesi take the lead again, Milani takes a free kick and pastes the ball into the top corner. The guests felt the pinch and within sixty seconds conceded two more goals, scored by Montrasio and Previtali. In the final, captain Personeni and Keko also participate in the party, for the final 7-2.
The last well-deserved applause goes to coach Danilo Lemma who, after ten years spent in the red and white house, left the bench. Two decades enriched with important results and crowned with two promotions, one to the A2 series and another to the A2 Elite series.
