The State Police, on 4 different occasions, discovered the narcotic in hiding places created ad hoc in cars and cellars; also found some hashish wrapped in the packaging of a well-known chocolate bar. 5 people were arrested on serious suspicion of various types of possession and dealing of narcotic substances.
Recent anti-drug operations conducted by the Rome police have led to numerous arrests in various neighborhoods of the city and in the province. Thanks to the joint work of investigators and canine units, the police have dismantled several drug dealing activities, with significant arrests and seizures of narcotic substances.
Arrest of a 20 year old in the Alessandria district
The investigators of the Appio police station, with the support of the Faro drug-sniffing dog, arrested a 20-year-old in the Alessandrino district. During the search of his apartment and appurtenances, approximately 220 grams of hashish, marijuana, cocaine and crack were found, along with 1225 euros in cash, precision scales and packaging material. It is suspected that the young man was using a messaging platform to sell drugs. The judge for preliminary investigations validated the arrest, as requested by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Arrest of two men in via Cesare Baronio
During an operation in the Appio-Tuscolano neighborhood, officers from the San Giovanni District stopped two men, a 42-year-old and a 41-year-old, who were transporting drugs hidden in a car parked nearby. The police seized almost 6 ounces of hashish, packaged in the paper of a well-known chocolate bar, and 20 grams of cocaine. Both men were arrested and the measure was validated by the Judiciary.
A 40-year-old man arrested in Cortina d’Ampezzo
The officers of the Ponte Milvio District stopped a 40-year-old in the northern quadrant of Rome, finding him in possession of a few grams of cocaine. The drugs were hidden in the upholstery of the car and in the man’s underwear. The 40-year-old was arrested and the investigating judge validated the measure at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Arrest of a 56 year old in the Laurentino district
The operators of the IX Exhibition District stopped a 56-year-old who, with a suspicious attitude, furtively entered a building. The search revealed a bag with 350 grams of cocaine in the rear window of the car and 20 grams of hashish in the fuel cap. Also in this case, the investigating judge validated the arrest.
Further arrests in the Province of Rome
Three further arrests were made in the province of Rome. In Colleferro, officers from the Tor Carbone District arrested a man found in possession of cocaine and crack. Also in Colleferro, investigators from the local police station stopped a man with a few grams of cocaine. Finally, a boy from Nettuno was arrested by officers from the Anzio/Nettuno police station with hashish, cocaine and crack.
These arrests demonstrate the commitment of the police in combating drug dealing in and around Rome, with targeted and effective operations to guarantee the safety of the community.
