Monday 8 May will be World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. This year to celebrate the 160 years of the Italian Red Cross the Varese Committee, Gazzada Schianno and Tradate has chosen to commit to organizing a special evening: Monday 6 May at 9.00 pm at the Cinema Teatro Nuovo in Varese (viale dei Mille, 39) an original and engaging theater show will be staged.
Following the success of last year’s debut, the Committee Volunteers will give life to the new theater show “The Power of Ideas…it all starts here”, the title recalls the importance of history, because knowing the roots and past of the Red Cross will allow the public to better understand the spirit that animates the Association, even today.
An imaginative narrator and an engaging talk show will accompany viewers to the discovery of the origins of the Red Crossof how an idea that is based on the attention and help of others, wherever and whoever they may be, can be born and become eternal.
The plot will be inspired by the principles spread by the founder Jean Henry Dunant, a visionary of good, who gave life to a reality that operates globally to help those in difficulty. There will be an in-depth look at the Italian history of the Association with many curiosities and anecdotes.
At the entrance to the theater, guests will be able to visit Ibrahim Malla’s photographic exhibition “160 years of Humanity”admire the historical collection of brooches donated by Luigi Cappiello and purchase a copy of the “Souvenir de Solferino”.
