The Adiemus Ensemble presented its ‘Act I’ in Crotone

CROTONE – A precious and valuable musical jewel of which the area should probably be proud. Let’s talk about theAdiemus Ensemblea small orchestra of 13 musicians who have three fundamental characteristics: being good, being all from Crotone, being friends.
Saturday April 27in the setting of the Pythagoras Museum, the Adiemus presented its first work: “Act I” is the title of the CD which contains 11 tracks. A compilation in which the Adiemus Ensemble plays famous classical music arias (such as Smetana’s Moldova, Bizet’s Carmen, Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 ‘From the New World’ and a tribute to Rossini) but also music composed by Ennio Morricone (such as Nuovo cinema Paradiso, La Califfa, The man with the harmonica, For a few dollars more, Mucchio Selvaggio, La Resa dei conti) and the song The prayer by Foster.

The CD presentation evening was opened by a medley of Rossini’s music. Then, with the intervention of the journalist Gianfranco Turino, the director of the orchestra, the maestro Damiano Morisetogether with the masters Joseph Iovine (artistic director) e Francesco Drago (president of the Adiemus Ensemble association) presented their activity to the Crotone public. Also because, although the Adiemus Ensemble has played around Italy and Europe, even performing in Vienna, have never played in the city of Crotone. A ‘neo’ for those who – we are talking about institutions and those who organize events – have at home talents such as the 13 masters of the Adiemus Ensemble who play as if they were a 50-piece orchestra.

“Our goal – said president Francesco Drago – is to sow music in the territory”. Born in 2019 over a beer in a restaurant in Torre Melissa, the Adiemus Ensemble is made up of masters who come from all over the Crotone area: Cirò Marina, Cirò, Melissa, Arbresh District, Casabona, Isola di Capo Rizzuto, Belvedere Spinello , Crotone and Scandale.

As the musicians told during the evening, she performed for the first time at Umbrian in front of 22 people. Since that day, however, things have gotten better and better and their goal of promoting music of every style and time continues.
“Time is showing us that we have managed to do something” said Morise underlining: “What united us is the human side which, through friendship and music, united the province of Crotone. We did the ensemble just for the pleasure of doing it, we chose the artistic side by investing our future in Crotone. Ours is an attempt to begin to change”

Meanwhile, the first CD of the Adiemus Ensemble arrives, which was recorded by the director Damiano Morise (who took care of the arrangements), Joseph Iovine (clarinet), Claudio Comito (Flute), Francesco Novello (clarinet), Daniele Lorenti (clarinet), Aldo Bruno (saxophone), Nicodemus Day (saxophone), Francesco Drago (trumpet), Antonio Tucci (French horn), Emmanuele Astorino (trombone), Antonio Rizzuti (bass trombone), Pascal Mascaro (piano), Antonio Bastone (percussion), Orlando Russo (baritone sax). The CD also features the voices of Madison (Marialuisa Scrivano), Alessandro Stancato, Valeria Bastone, Rosalba Truglio and the deputy narrator of Giuseppe Calabrettto. The production of the CD was financed by the construction company Giovanni Scrivano.
