The comforting results on tourism trends in the province of Alessandria tell us that we are in line with the national average but there is still a lot of work to do. A work of determination and passion in which the capital city also plays an important role. This result is the result of years of work by institutions, politicians, associations and, above all, operators. Alexala it is a strategic promotional body, a place of consultation and synthesis of the territory, fundamental for the cohesion and valorisation policies of our territories. Ours is a polycentric province, rich in history, popular traditions, culture and food and wine excellence, a rich province because it is crossed by different stories that have left interesting traces and, in some ways, still to be brought to a system.
The administrations and those in the Region who have brought forward the requests of our communities over the years have moved along this line.
The capital has returned to investing in Alexala also as a function of synthetic governance between the various area centres. The relaunch initiatives of Alessandria are all planned according to a vision that accentuates the characteristics of institutional contiguity between territories. The variety of offerings is accompanied by a new political vision of conurbation and sharing of choices between territories, which over the years have had isolation and few advantages from mutual opposition. For this reason, the lack of consultation for the renewal of the Alexala board of directors with the Municipality of Alessandria appears inconsistent with the plan of “teaming up” as a province. It would be a flaw that would not help the plan which aims to make our province competitive to offer our operators and our often family-run businesses some more chances. I propose to Alexala’s members to postpone Monday’s meeting and reconnect the threads of a necessary and profitable discussion for all of us.
