“We would like to point out that the lift to the Guastalla train station, promised to arrive on April 15th, has not yet arrived. And the month of April is coming to an end…”.
Words from some citizens who use the local train service, who point out yet another delay in setting up the lift in the station, which would not only allow elderly people, people with disabilities or heavy suitcases to reach the second and third tracks more easily, but it would also allow medical assistance in greater safety in the event of interventions on the platforms themselves, without having to transport patients and stretchers along the steep staircase or between the tracks.
The regional councilor Andrea Corsini, in recent weeks, had announced the installation of the system “from 15 April”, and then proceeded with the final testing to obtain all the authorizations for the start-up of the lift. But April 15th has passed and there are no traces of the plant. Even yesterday it was directly verified that the elevator shaft is still empty, practically a concrete structure with nothing inside except an electric cable.
“In December it was announced that the lift would be activated by February. But nothing was done about it. Then mid-April. This deadline was also ignored. The new underpass leading to the tracks was opened in September. and the Pieve area needs to provide citizens with adequate facilities to avoid inconvenience and problems”, add some travellers, not at all satisfied with yet another delay in the activation of the lift.
