Piedmontese politics lights up with the introduction of prominent figures in the “Cirio President – For our Piedmont” list. In view of the upcoming regional elections on 8 and 9 June, the Governor of Piedmont and centre-right candidate, Alberto Cirio, has revealed the names of the candidates of the Alessandria constituency, promising a political agenda focused on healthcare, infrastructure and environmental protection.
Friday afternoon in Alessandria marked a key moment for Cirio’s electoral campaign, with the presentation of a heterogeneous and qualified team. Among the candidates are Gianluca Bardone, a well-known figure in the local political fabric as former mayor of Tortona and now municipal councilor of Italia Viva, and Nicoletta Cucinella, deputy mayor and councilor of Arquata Scrivia with a portfolio that ranges from Culture to Social Policies.
The team is enriched by the presence of Giorgio Storace, former mayor of Rocchetta Ligure, bringing valuable administrative experience to the table. But the most striking news is represented by Paola Varese, renowned oncologist and director of Oncology at Ovada Hospital, whose candidacy represents a direct bridge between healthcare operations and political decisions, at a time when health is at the center of public debate.
The event underlined the importance of combining administrative experience with technical-professional knowledge. The four candidates emphasized the urgency of concrete responses to citizens’ needs, with particular attention to the improvement of basic services and the valorisation of territorial peculiarities.
