FERMO Thousands of visitors over the festive weekend, the historic center of Fermo continues to attract numerous tourists even from outside the region. Pairing with the works culture also because the treasures to see, from the Roman Cisterns to the museums and the Gyrfalconthey are not missing.
Those coming from outside point out that they have also visited other cities in the Marche, from Ascoli to Osimo, confirming that the only way to promote the sector is to work in synergy. Synergy in the Fermo area, as in the case of the pact between the 6 coastal municipalities to enhance the coast from Porto Sant’Elpidio to Campofilone, but also at the Marche level to be sold as a single brand. Other nearby regions, for example Umbria and Tuscany, are further ahead, but there is room for growth.
The offers
The center is enlivened by the initiatives of Fermoattiva , the historical-artistic itinerary created by Claudio “Bibi” Iacopini, which brings together art, historical-cultural beauties and visits to museums and churches. «Many visitors, so far we are satisfied», remarked Iacopini himself, waiting for today’s evening before drawing up an overall assessment. The event is now well established, has reached its 11th edition and will close today. In the centre, along the route, there are signs and information on the city, an outdoor exhibition of various artists and photographers. So visits to churches and museums, complete with unexpected artistic forays.

The program includes a workshop to learn how to make tagliatelle by “Vergare with passion” and an interactive activity to discover the world of eggs with the Le Contadelle farm, a wicker workshop to make baskets with Aldino Vittori, a workshop for children on cheese with the Fontegranne farm, a workshop on the hand-crafting of the jervicella straw hat with 4 braids from the hat museum of Montappone, a ceramics workshop to make vases and whistles with the Bozzi di Montottone potters, a workshop of biscuits for children and a contest on lu ciammellottu organized by “Vergare with passion”, for which from 3.30 pm it will be possible to deliver the dessert to the dedicated corner with name and surname, title of the work and recipe and a jury will select the winners in the categories .
So wooden games with Il Grillo Parlante, the games of the past with the wheel of fortune by the San Martino district, the rabbit game with the Campiglione district and the estimation of height with the Capodarco district. «A festive afternoon to dive back into the past, relive moments of the past and to make them relive as much as possible for the new generations and have fun», reiterates the deputy mayor Mauro Torresi.
