Peppe Di Napoli, in Silvia Toffanin’s living room, told the reasons that pushed him to withdraw from the Island of the famous 2024. Mainly he left the reality show because he missed his wife and children Aurora and Alessandro and then also because he had an injury and couldn’t sleep because of hip pain:
I love my wife and my children. It’s hard to stay away from them. I have been married to my wife for 24 years and have been engaged for 8 years. We have never been so far apart. The distance hurt me. I thought I could do it, but it was difficult. I didn’t sleep at night. I looked at the stars and thought about her. I was a little selfish by leaving my wife and daughter to run the business. I was weak, I couldn’t leave them alone. Then it happened on the island that I fell, hurt my hip and couldn’t sleep anymore.
He revealed that when he and Brunella saw each other again, they hugged each other again through tears: “She started crying“. The distance made him understand how every day he is more and more in love with his wife.

The illness of his wife Brunella
He also experienced a very difficult moment with his wife Brunella: “Five years ago he had intestinal cancer. I discovered it, because I saw the movements he did change every day. I convinced her to pay a visit. I really felt it. When the doctor called me and told me that they had to operate on my wife urgently, I cried like a baby“. And he continued:
For two months I didn’t go to work to be near her. She only wanted me. I stood next to her bed, took her to the bathroom. Today she is fine, thank God. We do check-ups every six months. I was so afraid of losing her.
The attack on the fish shop two years ago: “I’m not afraid”
Peppe Di Napoli then spoke about his decidedly tiring job: “I run a fish shop and a restaurant. The restaurant closes at 01:30 am. With the fish market you start at 2 am, you go to the market to get the fish. I sleep an hour, an hour and a half a day. Ten, twelve hours a week“. Two years ago the attack on his fish shop:
Two years ago they put a bomb on me and blew up the fish shop. We saw everything from the cameras. Many television stations came to me to interview me. But I work, I don’t have to be afraid of anyone. I work 22 hours a day and I want respect. When I had not yet arrived in Italy (after the Island of the Famous, ed.), my 22 year old daughter went to work with a fever. When something like this happens, you shouldn’t be scared, because the more scared you are, the weaker you are. I’m not scared of anything.
