Urban video surveillance, funding approved for eight Rimini municipalities • newsrimini.it

The Committee for Public Order and Security, chaired by the Prefect Rosa Maria Padovano, verified and approved the projects for the financing of urban video surveillance systems presented, following the ministerial tender for 2023, by eight municipalities in the province of Rimini: Coriano, Gemmano, Montecopiolo, Montescudo-Montecolombo, Novafeltria, San Clemente, Talamello, Verucchio.

The Prefect expressed appreciation towards the Mayors and representatives of the Municipalities for the project proposals, which are added to the similar initiatives presented by the Municipalities of Rimini, Bellaria-Igea Marina, Misano Adriatico and Sassofeltrio, with reference to the ministerial tender for 2022.

Approval is the final act of a procedure started with the preliminary signing of “Pacts for the implementation of Urban Security” between the Prefect and the Mayors of the Municipalities, followed by the presentation of the projects subject to technical-operational evaluation by the Police Forces with respect to the parameters and requirements in force on the subject.

The video surveillance projects presented were deemed worthy of attention, as they were related to the actual need for security in the area, “contributing”, stated the Prefect, “with a deterrent function, to the prevention of criminal phenomena, and encouraging a further boost to management of territorial control from a participatory and integrated security perspective with the police forces”.
