Trenitalia, more connections to tourist destinations and airports in Sicily

Regionale of Trenitalia (lead company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group), in agreement with the Sicilian Region which commissioned the service, introduces additional connections to accompany tourists and regular travelers to discover places of high cultural and landscape value, starting from the weekends of spring. This is what we read in a note.

In the comfort of the new Sicilian regional trains, the 25 Pop and the 17 Blues, the Cefalù Line returns, a service much appreciated in the summer by travelers and tourists, which on Saturdays and holidays connects Palermo and the “Falcone e Borsellino” international airport in Cefalù. In detail, the note underlines, 4 new total connections are planned between Palermo Centrale and Cefalù in both directions from Monday to Friday, 9 additional connections on Saturdays (5 from Palermo Centrale to Cefalù, 4 from Cefalù to Palermo) and 18 connections additional on Sundays and public holidays (9 in each direction). Furthermore, on Saturdays and holidays there is a direct connection between Palermo Airport and Cefalù with 5 trips on Saturdays and 12 on Sundays. Always on Saturdays and holidays, a new pair of connections between Palermo Airport and Milazzo, gateway to the Aeolian Islands, is available again.

On the Ionian coast, the note continues, the Taormina Line is added, with 6 additional connections on holidays distributed as follows: 2 from Catania Fontanarossa Airport to Letojanni, 1 from Catania Centrale to Letojanni and 3 from Letojanni to Catania Centrale. Services between Palermo Centrale and Palermo Airport are also increasing, with the introduction of 3 trips on Saturdays and 2 on holidays, plus a further 2 new connections between Palermo Centrale and Palermo Airport on 28 April, 12 and 26 May , June 16th and 30th. Furthermore, the offer on Isola delle Femmine is growing thanks to the assignment of additional stops to trains on the Palermo Centrale – Palermo Airport line (12 connections from Monday to Friday and 8 on Saturday); on the Messina Centrale – Sant’Agata di Militello line, the service to Oliveri, Falcone, Novara is expanded with 6 connections on public holidays. Always available to commuters and tourists, however, is the Taormina Link service, between the Taormina-Giardini station and the Taormina village, thanks to the ASM Taormina buses; the train+bus service between Agrigento Centrale and Agrigento Valle dei Templi, guaranteed by the collaboration between Trenitalia and TUA Agrigento, and the Fontanarossa Airlink, a combined train+bus service born from the collaboration between Trenitalia and AMTS Catania, which allows you to reach Catania by bus, a few minutes, from the Catania Fontanarossa train stop to the Catania Airport terminal, concludes the note.
