Fasano, Costantini starts again from Barletta

FASANO – Having quelled the flames of a hot week which saw Luca Tiozzo’s head fall from the bench, Fasano tried to reorganize their ideas by starting again with coach Vito Costantini for the very delicate match of the “Puttilli”, against Barletta, of the 33rd Serie D day.

Not a new face, neither for the environment nor for the team, given that the Monopolitan coach sat on the bench for the entire season as deputy Tiozzo. A profile that the group knows well and to whom the company has decided to entrust the desperate move in an attempt to save the day and avoid the sensational and ruinous relegation to Excellence.

Whether it was a good move or, on the contrary, a wrong one, this will be decided by the time and the 180′ that separated the teams at the end of the regular season.

Numbers in hand, Fasano still even has the (remote) possibility of earning a stay in the fourth series without going through the pitfalls of the playouts: in the event of a victory against Barletta and Paganese and in the event that Barletta is also defeated by Angri and Martina , the play-offs would not be played due to the eight points gap in the standings between 12th and 13th and Santa Maria, Bitonto, Barletta and Gallipoli would be directly relegated.

However, Conti’s path was fatal for Fasano, evidently too convinced of the mathematical connections, which is why in these last two matches only the victory result must count.

It is unlikely that Costantini was able to work miracles in just a few days but his experience on the first team bench demonstrates his abilities as a motivator. What the biancazzurri need is a mental coach rather than a technician and Costantini knows this well.

He gets to know the kids one by one and knows the group’s strengths and weaknesses. It is difficult to see a tactical revolution at the “Puttilli”, but it will be more likely to see the more academic of the 4-4-2 to regain compactness and try to hit Barletta on the restart.

Two teams in great difficulty face each other: a challenge between two teams who have disappointed expectations in this edition of the Serie D championship, two demoralized groups who see the specter of Excellence.

The winner will not be the tactical skill of the two coaches but whoever on the pitch will have more energy, stronger nerves and more desire to remain in Serie D. To support the team, the organized fans of the Curva Sud have arranged buses at popular prices (5 €) to give all fans the opportunity to follow the team away. It will be possible to purchase tickets for Barletta-Fasano at the Collodi Cafè until 7.00pm on Saturday 27 April (cost €10 + presale fees).

Kick-off at 3pm on Sunday 28 April with match direction entrusted to Carlo Esposito from the Naples section.
