BOLZANO. The leader of the Austrian far right and the identitarian movement, Martin Sellner announced on X (formerly Twitter) his visit to Bolzano and a meeting with the South Tyrolean provincial councilor Jürgen Wirth Anderlan.

Because of his extremist positions Sellner He is banned from entering the US and the UK. Sellner is an advocate of “remigration”, i.e. the massive expulsion of foreigners, but also for example of German citizens of “non-assimilated” foreign origins. «When we met in Vienna it was love at first sight (with Jürgen Wirth Anderlan, ed.) – writes Sellner asking his supporters to comment on his proposal to reach the South Tyrolean capital on May 5th for a “revolutionary breakfast”.

“We had agreed to meet again in Bolzano, but I learned of the announcement from the media,” Anderlan told Ansa. Regarding the strong criticism of Sellner’s political positions, the former commander of the South Tyrolean Schützen responds: «Matrin is my friend and I meet whoever I want. Among other things, I am now considered more dangerous than him”, joked Writh Anderlan in reference to the disputed speech at an FPÖ conference in Austria.

Anpi Alto Adige Südtirol attacks: «The meeting is explicitly aimed at extending Sellner’s dangerous xenophobic initiatives to our land too, in particular, those on the so-called ‘re-migration’ and the deportation of millions of migrants» he says, asking to be denied entry in Italy to the Austrian politician. In a note, the partisan association «reiterates for the umpteenth time that Martin Sellner is leader of the far-right group Austrian Identitarian Movement (IBÖ), an openly xenophobic and racist organization, linked to neo-Nazi groups and other movements of the European far right like the AfD in Germany, the subject of numerous investigations and judicial measures. Great Britain and the USA have already considered him a dangerous person and denied him an entry visa. Germany is thinking about it.”

«In Austria and Germany hundreds of thousands of citizens are mobilizing against racism and in defense of democracy. Politics, institutions, civil society of a multicultural land like ours cannot be conniving, or remain indifferent in the face of clear and full-blown violations of the Constitution and of the Italian and European laws in force”, concludes Anpi.
