THE Crohma historic Aosta Valley heavy metal band, celebrates the tenth anniversary of their “rebirth” by presenting a new studio work “King of Nothing” preceded by two videos and several interviews.
Their latest release is oriented towards the international scene: in fact the single tracks “The King of Nothing” and “Make Your Bed an Lie in It” also present as videos on their Youtube channel, were launched with premieres by radio stations Estacion Rock of Sonora-Mexico and from World of Metal of Portugal, while together with the other single “Road to Paradise” they will enter several Spotify playlists.
The entire album “King of Nothing” will be released on all digital stores and in shops starting from May 3rd and will be premiered by the German site Metal.de on May 2, 2024 at 4:00 pm. The album will also be presented via live streaming on Rock TV Tuesday 14 May 2024 at 6pm.
Crohm will present the new album in Aosta, playing it entirely live. The appointment is for Sunday 5 May starting from 6.00 pm in the multipurpose room of the Ida Desandré Library in Viale Europa 5, with the patronage of the Municipality of Aosta. Guests of the evening i Black Phantom of Milan who will pay homage to the Crohms for the friendship that binds them, with the band’s songs.
As with every new release of their albums, Crohm choose to contribute to charitable projects and for 2024 they have chosen to operate locally by donating to the project “The Call of the Woods”an educational reality of experiential learning in contact with the nature of the Aosta Valley for children aged 3 to 11, focusing on the future.
“King of Nothing” has as its theme the exploration of the human soul when one finds oneself reflecting on one’s own experiences. It is an inner journey with a disenchanted look towards illusions in general, when the human being sums up his own life, the choices made, the events experienced and compares them with the dreams, objectives and initial projects, often not having a exhilarating result… The album generally travels through this internal reality and tells of how individuals go through life with its trials, efforts, struggles, few successes and many failures and then find themselves, precisely, “King of Nothing”, of the rulers of nothing.
The Crohms’ vision of life, however, is not pessimistic or cynical (even if the human soul and society are somewhat disappointing in relation to the realization of individual happiness) since the album also includes love songs such as “A Light Breeze ” and “The Sense of Existence”. This in particular offers the summary of the Crohms’ life philosophy: beyond achievements in terms of acquisition of material goods, properties, objects or social positions achieved, it translates into the beauty of listening to the breathing of the loved one who he sleeps next to us. According to the band, this is the essence of the experience on the planet, the value for which it is worth getting up in the morning or staying awake at night: love and the depth of relationships that represent the meaning of existence, the good we do to others, to the planet, to ideas.
Crohm’s musical style crosses many territories, from Heavy Metal to Thrash, touching on Progressive, sometimes winking at Hard Rock, thus triggering a reshuffling of the cards that makes the music peculiar, transversal to defined genres, underlining from time to time from time to time the sense of the soul’s story with an appropriate atmosphere.
“King of Nothing” is an album that develops over 48 minutes of eleven songs at a fast pace with more elaborate moments. The eleven tracks are: “No Direction”, “The King of Nothing”, “Single Frame”, “Make Your Bed And Lie In It”, “Into The Unknow”, “A Light Breeze”, “Sacred Freedom”, “ The Sense of Existence”, “Road To Paradise”, “A Strange Light In Your Eyes”, “Stars”.
The album was recorded in early January 2024 at TDE Studio Saint-Christophe (AO)while the mixing, digital editing and mastering were carried out at theAudiocore Studio of Fontevivo (PR).
The graphic design of the album is by Crohm and Pier Francesco Grizi; the graphic creation was handled by Pier Francesco Grizi who is also the author of the photos of the band.

The Crohms are Sergio Fiorani (vocals), Claudio Zac Zanchetta (guitar), Riccardo Taraglio (bass) and Fabio Cannatà (drums).
Crohm, the first and historic heavy metal band from the Aosta Valley, has recorded “Legend And Prophecy” (2015), “Humanity” (2017), “Failure In The System” (2020) and “Paindemic” (2021) in the last ten years. performing in over 50 live shows, representing Valle d’Aosta at the national finals of Arezzo Wave 2020 and inserting the video “The Wash-Sin Machine” in the film “The Chain”, an American suspense-thriller presented at Cannes 2022 and distributed nationwide worldwide by Lionsgate, directed by Stefano Milla, whose cast includes Jason R.Moore (“The Punisher”) and Mishael Lopes Cardozo (“Vikings”, “Game of Thrones”).
