A weekend of music with Music from the World

After the amazing concert and public success of the musical group Nostos Orchestra of the Alimos Music School of Athens, 45 students aged 13 to 17 which took place at the Sala dei Notari yesterday afternoon, on Liberation Day, it is scheduled for tomorrow Saturday 27 April at 6.30 pm, always in the same room, another musical event with a group from the city of Weert in the south of Holland “The Streetsingers.
Entrance is free, without reservation.

The concert is part of the music festival now in its 25th edition, Musica dal Mondo. Festival of Youth Choirs and Orchestras, curated by A.GI.MUS. Perugia, director M° Salvatore Silivestro and by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Perugia with the patronage of the MIC and the collaboration of the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

“The Streetsingers “ is an almost all-female choir with a repertoire that ranges from sacred music, spirituals and classical. The group was born in 1980, the founder is the current director Noël Seerden. The lineup present in Umbria includes 40 singers, 34 women and 6 men, accompanied by the talented pianist Bert Peeters.

Noël Serden (1965) has been the director of the Maneuver men’s choir since its foundation in 1992. At the age of 15, Noël began his musical career as an organist/conductor with the youth choir “De Laarder Rakkers” and “Zangvereniging Laar”, both in Weert. In addition to Maneuver, he is currently also director of the mixed choir “The Streetsingers”. In the past he also worked as director of the “Wieerter Vastelaovundj Zengers”, of the “Zangertjes van St. Frans”, “Unit”, “Jumble”, of the male choir Wilma and of the singing association “Venrode” (Venray) and as director of orchestra. Noël studied Music Education at the Maastricht Conservatory of Music and graduated in 1988. In everyday life Noël is a music teacher at Dendron College in Horst. In the past Noël also worked as a teacher in several primary schools as well as music schools at Kwadrant in Weert. Almost everyone in the Weerter region knows this former Prince Rogstaekers, awarded the Order of Orange Nassau.

Musica dal Mondo 2024 will also meet you at the next concert, Friday 10 May at 9pm at the Abbey of San Pietro in Borgo XX Giugno with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Musik in Centrum music school (Germany) – Raphael Rebholz, director, in collaboration with FOG/Festival of Youth Orchestras of Florence.
