Ravenna – Memorandum of understanding between the Born Donors-State Police Association and the Volunteer Blood Donors Association – Ravenna Police Headquarters

On Tuesday 23 April 2024, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Born Donors-State Police Association and the Ravenna Volunteer Blood Donors Association (federated Fidas) in light of the one already existing at national level, to always disseminate plus the culture of donating blood and blood components, in order to increase the number of periodic donors in the Ravenna area.

Dr. Ester Fadda, President of the Ravenna Section of DonatoriNati declares that she is

“particularly satisfied with this new synergy, the warm welcome received and the family atmosphere created between the two Associations which pursue the common objective of the widespread diffusion of citizens’ awareness of transfusion – and adds – that this partnership will certainly be of assistance in the expansion of the donor pool, in particular among the personnel of the State Police, the Civil Administration of the Ministry of the Interior and their family members.”

“I am honored to sign this memorandum of understanding with the DonatoriNati-State Police Association – comments Monica Dragoni, President of ADVS Ravenna – because it represents a further point of cohesion with the various realities present in our territory. Being able to open the doors of our Association and the collection center of the Ravenna Hospital in such an official way to all the staff of the Ravenna Police Headquarters is a source of great pride for me.”

Both Associations thank the Commissioner of Ravenna, Dr. Lucio Pennella and his staff for their enthusiastic support and their great sensitivity in understanding the importance of the message conveyed.

The DonatoriNati-State Police Association, established in 2003 on the initiative of a group of members of the State Police and expanded in 2018 thanks to the union with the Fire Brigade, today present with over 15,000 members including volunteers and donors, policemen and non, in 15 Italian regions, is the only police association with an institutional protocol whose aim is to promote the culture of blood donation as an ethical behavior to give new horizons to leukemia, thalassemia, transplant recipients, burn victims and all those who have need.

ADVS Fidas Ravenna has been operating in the Ravenna area since 1961 and currently has over 7,000 registered members and a total of almost 9,000 donations of blood and blood products per year.
