The young Italian-Egyptian suspected of the murder declares himself innocent at the hearing of the Grenoble Court of Appeal, asks to return to Italy and accuses his dead partner: “He told me he had withdrawn the complaints”

“I didn’t kill Auriane, I’m innocent.” These are the words spoken by Sohaib Teimathe 21-year-old Italian-Egyptian from Stopped accused of killing the twenty-two-year-old Frenchwoman Auriane Nathalie Laisnewhile he is in prison in Grenoblein France.

It was held yesterday the Court of Appeal hearing of Grenoble, during which Teima denied having killed his partner, who was found dead on April 5 in a small ruined church above La Sallein Valle d’Aosta, and asked to be extradited to Italy. The decision will be made on May 2.

During the hearing Teima explained that he had not voluntarily violated the ban on approaching Auriane, the girl in January lor had reported mistreatment and for these charges he will be tried in Grenoble on May 3, but that she lied to him by saying that she had withdrawn the complaint. «You lied to me – you said in court – I have always respected the ban but you told me you had withdrawn the complaint, which is why we were together».

The boy was arrested in Lyon on April 11 after fleeing Italy. According to the Aosta prosecutor’s office, he is ”seriously suspected” of having killed his partner, and for this reason the magistrates had requested a European arrest warrant.

According to investigators, between March 26 and 27, he killed the girl, then he would flee to France, where he had been studying for some years. During the hearing, Teima also explained that he had not voluntarily violated the ban on approaching the girl, who in January had reported him for mistreatment. Charges for which he will be tried in Grenoble on May 3.
According to the prosecution, the boy planned the murder in every detail. The Italian lawyers have not yet been able to speak to Teima: they will only be able to do so after the boy is extradited as requested by the prosecutor’s office of Aosta.
