On Monday 29 April 2024, at 3.00 pm Benny Campobasso, national president of FISMO Confesercenti (Italian Fashion Sector Federation) will be in Taranto to participate in a meeting with traders in the fashion, clothing, footwear, accessories and so on sectors.

A speech on the situation of the sector and the activities of the federation is planned. The meeting, which will be coordinated by Francesca Intermite, president of Confesercenti CasaImpresa Taranto, will take place at the association’s headquarters, in via Dante in Taranto.

An update on the national FISMO campaign, “Let’s save the end-of-season sales”, which aims to introduce substantial changes to the regulation of sales, is also expected. The Taranto association, among other topics, will present the 2024/2025 program of free training courses for employees with the use of professional funds.

FISMO, in terms of political-union importance and organized strength, is one of the strongest trade unions in Confesercenti: it is so in terms of the number of members, over 24,500 out of approximately 165,500 companies operating in Italy, and it was established in 1979. FISMO, which represents small and medium-sized companies that deal with the retail distribution of clothing, textiles, footwear, leather goods and fashion accessories, is present with its own organized management groups in all Italian provinces.

In recent years it has been characterized in a particular way with respect to some problems particularly felt by operators: initiatives aimed at regulating the entry of large-scale retail trade into our sector in a more balanced way; development of policies aimed at enhancing the retail commercial presence in historic centres; Ø end-of-season sales; Ø extraordinary sales; Ø promotional sales; the age-old and fundamental question for the category of fiscal evaluation of warehouse inventories.

FISMO’s task is also to provide the category with new analysis and programming tools capable of creating the conditions and opportunities to act within an increasingly global, but not globalizing, market.
