VINITALY The Barbera d’Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium presented, in recent days, at Vinitaly, where it was present with its own stand, the restyling project for DOCG wines. There was great anticipation for this presentation, which represents much more than a graphic renewal of the labels of the DOCG denominations protected by the Consortium.

President Vitaliano Maccario explained: «With this project we aspire to communicate the uniqueness of the wine varieties of our territory through new labels that tell the story and identity of each DOCG. This project, which celebrates the idea of “United in diversity,” intends to give value to the very essence of our wines and what they contain: elegance, high quality, strong identity and great passion for Monferrato». Maccario underlined: -«Talking about identity means recognizing and enhancing the peculiarities of each denomination, but also weaving these diversities into a common, cohesive and unitary Piedmontese fabric. Barbera is not only the heart of our wines, but also the grape variety from which our winemaking tradition comes. The new graphics are proposed as a strong symbol of this vision: the fingerprint on the logo not only certifies the authenticity and uniqueness of the territory, but also symbolizes the community, every producer, every citizen who contributes to the richness of our identity collective.”

The Consortium added: -«The fingerprint, which adorns our logo, is more than a symbol of authenticity: it is the voice of our distinctive, irrefutable, unrepeatable land. That imprint represents, even more, every single member of our community.”

With these words, the Consortium and its producers have committed themselves to making a difference in the future in the world of Barbera, protecting each denomination and giving it the right importance, however, from a community perspective. The DOCGs with their own label are: Barbera d’Asti, Barbera d’Asti Superiore, Nizza, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, Terre Alfieri Nebbiolo and Terre Alfieri Arneis, all represented by the digital imprint, which for each denomination is divided into colors different.

Then referring to the Vinitaly event in Verona, where the Consortium recorded great success, also marked by the celebration of ten years of the Nizza Docg denomination, Maccario concluded: -«The event has always represented a showcase for our territory and for the companies that we promote, which have demonstrated, once again, the very high quality of our wine heritage.”
