Young people, sport and culture. These are the three fundamental points on which the action of the next Pavia government will have to focus according to Rodolfo Faldini, municipal councilor of the Misto group (formerly Forza Italia) who on Wednesday 24 April presented the “Facciamo Centro” list which will support the centre-left mayoral candidate Michele Lissia at the municipal elections of 8 and 9 June in Pavia. “Young people have been forgotten in the last 5 years by the Fracassi council – said Faldini – as has sport. This is demonstrated by the abandonment of the Folperti swimming pool, which is now closed to the public.”
Then Faldini addressed the topic of culture, recalling that there has not been a dedicated councilor in Pavia for some time. “In the culture sector, Pavia deserves an international scenario. In 2025 the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Pavia will be an opportunity for this relaunch of the city. Unfortunately we don’t yet know what the municipality is organizing, a lot of work will have to be done in this regard.”
Another issue that Faldini underlined is the attention that the Municipality must have in monitoring the level of electrosmog in Pavia, even after the recent installation of new telephone antennas in the San Pietro district. Which raised the protest of many citizens and a collection of signatures.
The list is currently made up of 24 people, many debuting on the political scene.
“Despite being beginners, they are very well-prepared people with a great desire to improve the city” said Faldini, who did not rule out new entries on the list in the coming days. “We are addressing the centrists, but we are opening the doors to the disappointed voters of the centre-right who we know are many and who are looking for a political formation of moderates as an alternative to the bad government of the last 5 years of the city”.
Also present at the presentation conference was Michele Lissia, centre-left mayoral candidate. “Faldini is a serious person, who has a recognized leadership in the local political panorama – said Lissia –: this is a true civic list, with people from different areas of society who know how to translate the different facets of the city and therefore transform them into needs concrete elements that Pavia needs”.
