Giuseppe Iodice, aka Yodis, is a YouTuber and content creator from Senigallia, specialized in reports related to the rap world. He began to make himself known in 2019, reaching trends several times until he had a channel with 60,000 subscribers. In 2021 he began working in Milan and also came into contact with international companies such as Seven Zoo, Morad, Baby Gang and many others.
How did your desire to start working in the reporting field and collaborate with high-level rappers come about?
The inspiration came to me while watching the series “Immersion au Quartier” by the French YouTuber Gab Morrison, I also had the opportunity to collaborate with several rappers who I consider friends such as Jamil, Young Rame, Keta, Neima Ezza and many others
What has your career path been like so far and what challenges have you faced along the way?
As in every journey I have had ups and downs, but I am happy that despite the difficulties I have grown and achieved all the goals I had set for myself including collaborating with my favorite rappers, participating in exclusive events, going trendy and being able to grow as person.
Tell us a little more about your decision to move from a YouTube channel focused on dissing rappers to a broader, more valorizing focus on your character?
At the base of everything there is a “religious” reason as I think that although the first videos made millions of views if you don’t bring added value to what you do you don’t create anything concrete, furthermore when I started I was still going to school and I made videos for fun in the bedroom, as I grow up my priorities in life change. The positive thing that remained with me from that period is that many kids thanked me from all over Italy because they enjoyed my videos in their adolescence and in particular in the Covid period, I am very proud of this.
What have been the most significant moments in your career up to this point?
Certainly in terms of Reportage those with: Morad, Russ Millions, Baby Gang, El Grande Toto and all of Seven 7oo, as far as dissing is concerned, certainly those relating to the feud between Simba and Touchè.
How do you approach your identity in the context of the music world?
I try to keep my distance from certain contexts and maintain my independence, this does not mean that along the way I have met many friends with whom I am still in contact and collaborate. Honestly, I always try to be myself, those who know me know that I am a kind, polite boy, I love to laugh, joke and spend time with my friends for both leisure and work.
What was your experience having met international artists such as Morad, Russ Millions, Baby Gang and Toto? Can you share some anecdotes with us?
Morad was very kind to me, despite being an international star he acted like a brother, Baby Gang the first time we met he told me that he already knew me as I have been supporting him since his second song, and then what about the live performances of Russ and Toto are of another level of pure energy, it amazes me that in Italy they are not as appreciated as abroad.
What are your future goals and plans? What reporting do you have planned with rappers?
I want to publish all the videos I made on the Euro Underground YouTube channel and bring different formats with the artists, I want to have fun. I have reports with Shiva, Rhove, Fabri Fibra, Vale Pain, Guè Pequeno, Niky Savage, Spooky, Neza, Nabi, Medy and many others.
What would you like to say to those who want to pursue a career like yours?
I take a phrase from Fabri Fibra in “Donna Famosa”: “Do what you think is right for your career, not what others tell you to do, because if you succeed, others are envious!”
