A woman was bitten in the head by her dog in Fonte, a hamlet of Roccadaspide, in the province of Salerno; What saved her were her husband, who was with her, and some passers-by, who managed to grab the German shepherd and push him away. It happened in the garden of the victim’s home, in Via Nazionale. The victim was transferred to hospital, her condition is not serious.

According to an initial reconstruction, the woman was in the garden with the dog, the reasons for the attack are not clear at the moment; the animal would have lunged at her suddenly, knocking her to the ground and then biting her on the head while she was face down on the ground. The first to intervene was the husband, who was a few meters away, later helped by some passers-by who were in the area. She was alerted on 118 and, after dressing the wound on the spot, the woman was transported by ambulance to the Eboli emergency room, where the doctors ruled out serious consequences.

The 13-month-old baby killed by two pit bulls of family friends in Eboli was buried today in the Salerno cemetery. The little boy was attacked on April 22nd while he was in his uncle’s arms near his home, in the hamlet of Campolongo; the attempts to save him by the man and his mother, both of whom were injured, were useless. Five people are under investigation for the matter, which is being investigated by the Carabinieri of the local company, including the mother, the uncles and the owners of the dogs. The two pit bulls were taken to the Eboli kennel.
