He threatened to disfigure – In Foligno, a 19-year-old young man was arrested home after a series of serious threats and persecutory behavior towards a former classmate of his, an 18-year-old girl. The boy, not accepting the young woman’s decision to end their brief relationship, engaged in disturbing and aggressive conduct, aggravated by threats of disfigurement with acid.
The case emerged thanks to investigations conducted by the Carabinieri of Foligno, who documented how the young man repeatedly tried to contact the victim. He sent numerous threatening messages and called her frequently, often using mutual friends to reach her, despite clear indications from the girl that she did not wish to maintain any type of contact.
The young man’s actions were particularly bold and worrying, including incidents of physical aggression; on one occasion, during a school break, he spat on the girl. In another situation, he was caught near the school armed with an iron bar, further intensifying concerns for the safety of the young woman and her family, who were subjected to insults and direct threats.
Given the repeated and serious acts persecutors, which seriously endangered the physical and psychological safety of the student, the Judge for Preliminary Investigations, evaluating the evidence collected by the prosecutor’s office and the carabinieri, decided to apply house arrest to the 19-year-old. This precautionary measure reflects the need to protect the victim and prevent further episodes of violence, thus ensuring a safe environment for her and for the school community in general.
This episode raises questions significant on safety in schools and on the dynamics of youth violence, highlighting the need for timely interventions and adequate legal and psychological support for victims of similar attacks.
