Fano Cambia Passo: “City behind on tourist hospitality”

FANO – “We share the concerns and criticisms of the Alberghi Consorziati cooperative. The city cannot present itself to tourists in these conditions at the end of April.” Thus the Fano Cambia Passo civic list, which supports Luca Serfilippi’s candidacy for mayor, intervenes on the reception issue.

“A city with a tourist vocation like ours – they resume from Fano Cambia Passo – from April 1st must be polished up and already in full promotion of events. Instead we are behind on all fronts. Those who have arrived in the city for the April 25th long weekend or those who will do so for the May 1st long weekend, will find construction sites in sensitive areas, tall grass, bad roads. In Torrette there are areas closed to the operators themselves. Not to mention the large economic investment made for the Giro d’Italia to find the hub of the Sassonia seafront, the area where the Rastatt amphitheater once stood, with work in progress. A seriously delayed project where they didn’t even provide a loading and unloading car park for the Hotel Cristallo, without forgetting Viale Battisti with the problem of boat transport”.

The civic list highlights the lack of adequate planning: “Construction sites were opened at the same time with the mere thought of inaugurating them by the end of the mandate. In the seaside area the only road on which the cars of citizens and tourists have been dumped for months is Viale Ruggeri which is in disastrous conditions”.

Then Fano Cambia Passo talks about another aspect of lack of foresight. “The most important summer events must be presented in October of the previous year and not at the end of April of the current one. The dates have been known for some time and national promotional actions are needed for these events: instead everything is always reduced to the last few days without coordination and with advertising often only in local media just to let the people of Fano know what’s on in the city. But programming is something else entirely. Focusing on tourism means constantly carrying out maintenance, it means, for example, creating an integrated system for museums to ensure that those who come to Fano don’t find two open and two closed”.

In the electoral program of the centre-right coalition Per Fano there will be great attention to these topics which will be illustrated on Saturday 4 May at 10am at the Cinema Politeama when the candidate for mayor Luca Serfilippi will illustrate the new government programme.
