In the province of Sassari the GDP is among the worst in Italy.
Sardinia, including the province of Sassari, is among those that produce the least GDP in Italy. This was decreed by the Openpolis portal on ISTAT data from 2021, where it analyzed all the Italian provinces in the production of gross domestic product per capita.
The richness of a territory is closely linked to GDP, or gross domestic product, which is a metric that reflects the total value of all final goods and services produced within a state’s borders during a specific period. Essentially, GDP offers a measure of economic activity aggregate of a country during a given period of time.
According to the Openpolis study, the province of Sassari, and even worse that of Southern Sardinia, are in the last places in the country in terms of GDP per capita. A situation that does not differ from the rest of the Noon, where Sardinia is accompanied by some Sicilian and Calabrian provinces. The only province on the island with a GDP per capita more similar to central Italy is the province of Cagliari.

Sassari is the second province in Sardinia with the highest GDP, but it is one of the Italian provinces with the worst value, very similar to the other areas of Southern Italy. The worst province is that of South Sardinia, with 16,700 euros per capita. Continued Oristano with 19,900 euros produced and Nuoro comes third with 20,500 euros. It does a little better Sassari with 22,800 euros per capita, but it differs a lot from Cagliariwhich has a GDP of 28,600.
