TC Mondovì: Tournament in memory of Grande Torino

On Sunday 5 May, at the “Grande Torino” sports area in Piazza, the “Grande Torino Tournament” will be held, promoted by the Torino Club, with the patronage of the Municipality of Mondovì, to honor the 75th anniversary of his death in Superga on 4 May of 1949 of the “Invincibles” team.
The 2013 representatives of the Mondovì football clubs will compete: ASD Piazza, Monregale and Olimpic Ferrone. It will be an opportunity not only to remember a team that represents an important “piece” of the history of football and, more generally, of the history of our country, but also to celebrate the game of football in its most genuine values.
It is no coincidence, in fact, that in 2015, FIFA established World Football Day on May 4th! World Football Day aims, in addition to commemorating the missing champions, to remind us that football goes beyond the playing field and has the power to unite people, to overcome cultural and linguistic barriers, to promote positive values such as fairness play, solidarity, inclusion and respect.
But above all, football, for our children and young people, must be passion and fun and this is what the opportunity we propose is intended to be: a moment to celebrate champions who have entered myth and legend but, above all, a moment of sharing , fun and festive!
The event will take place starting from 9.00 am, at 11.00 am there will be a short ceremony at the monument in memory of the missing champions and then the final for 1st – 2nd place followed by the awards ceremony and a small refreshment for everyone, thank you to the precious contribution of “Tealdi Petroli” and “Ipercoop”.
