A meeting was held on Tuesday 23 April with the provincial director of Vicenza to address the numerous logistical critical issues highlighted by the staff who attended the meeting called by USB on 27 March.
The comparison request occurred on impulse from USB only, despite the fact that during the meeting the staff had expressly requested to start a unified process through the involvement of all trade unions. who, when questioned in this sense, did not deign to give any response. An attitude that certainly did not limit the actions of USB, which in fact requested and obtained a discussion at the table, but rather demonstrated disregard for the interests of the Vicenza DP staff and the needs expressed by them.
In reiterating the need to find a new location for the Vicenza staff suited to the needs of both those currently in service and the winners of the latest competition who will finally, after so many years, increase the current workforce, the USB summarized at the table the reasons for concern reiterated by those who attended the meetinglisting all the critical issues also found in the inspections carried out in the two current locations.
Once again we have underlined the inadequacy of some solutions already adopted, which bypass the minimum requirements in terms of health and safety and the psychophysical well-being of the staff who live in those spaces on a daily basis. We have reiterated the need to guarantee, within the offices, spaces for staff meetings and assemblies as well as a space to eat a meal during the lunch break.
Both the provincial director and the head of the resource management sector of the Regional Directorate present at the meeting, have noted the critical issues listed during the meeting e they are committed to finding solutions to solve security problems and to take measures that seek to improve the working well-being conditions of the offices. A commitment that we expect to be fulfilled in a reasonable time, despite the bureaucratic and administrative steps that the use of some expenses requires.
Working safely is a right that must be guaranteed in the workplace!
The request for this further meeting with the manager of the Vicenza DP and the commitments made in trying to remedy the critical issues highlighted constitute a first step towards responding to the requests for greater safety and well-being made by the staff. We will remain alongside the workers of the Vicenza DP for see what was promised in words fulfilled.
