POGGIO PICENZE (AQ) – Ten million euros make a difference especially if invested in a municipality with just over a thousand inhabitants and concentrated only in the last three years.
“Maintaining history and looking to the future” is the motto of Mayor Antonello Gialloreto at the helm of the administration for the second time and which, in this new phase, stands out for its ability to continue to attract additional funding.
The shopping list is characterized by old works to be redeveloped and new works to keep up with the times. Fifty percent of the works have already been carried out with visible and satisfactory results which are likely to change the face of Poggio Picenze.
The eyes of citizens are certainly focused on the heart of the country: the Piazza Salvatore Massonio which is the meeting point of many generations and location of events.
It is precisely there that in recent weeks the largest construction site in the municipality has not stopped to complete the work by the summer. “We will have two thousand square meters redeveloped and revitalized with redesigned spaces and new green areas worth 1 million euros. There will also be columns for charging electric cars” – explains Gialloreto.
The buildings of the former wash house which will become a new one are also being redeveloped information center municipality and the former roadman’s house for a total amount of 800 thousand euros, as well as the redevelopment of the historic municipal headquarters which boasts a very respectable project: it will in fact become an NZEB building, i.e. highly energy efficient, for a cost of 800 thousand euros.
“Important attention is paid to sport and the boys. We have already completed the safety and redevelopment work on the sports field and associated changing rooms, for an amount of approximately 150 thousand euros. This operation has reawakened the country’s passion for football, so much so that there is a great movement aimed at reconstituting thePoggio Picenze Sports Association. We aimed high, thinking, with an investment of 400 thousand euros, also about the redevelopment of the golf course tennis and the multipurpose one that have been abandoned for years and the creation of a completely new area for the padel and the pinckleball. The latter would be the first camp in the district” – explains the mayor in detail.
The municipality does not lag behind even on theenergy efficiency with as many as 350 thousand euros invested for the installation of new technology heat pumps on some municipal buildings, solar panels and photovoltaic systems and replacement of all the old public lighting lanterns with those exclusively based on LED technology.
“Ultimately 250 thousand euros are used for the digital transition and 2 and a half million for the Energy Community from Renewable sources200 thousand euros were instead invested in the safety of some roads and 1 million euros for the hydrogeological instability on two main arteries of the country. Particular attention, deeply felt by the citizens, was paid to the safety of the graveyard and the creation of new niches for 200 thousand euros”.
