A weekend still full of events, with the Agrifiera continuing with a proposal of initiatives suitable for adults and children and engines still protagonists at Expo Pontedera. There is no shortage of markets, this time in Marina di Pisa, and guided tours, including the possibility of discovering Pisa by boat. There will also be space for cultural initiatives with the debut of a literary festival in Ponsacco and the screening of a film from which to broaden the perspective on a modern-day war. Finally, for those who just want to relax, the Bagni di Pisa initiative is excellent. Let’s see everything in detail.

AND The 114th edition of the Agrifiera is now in full swing, with cultural events and workshops for children and adults as well as the large presence of exhibitors from the agricultural sector. Until April 28th and May 1st, the shuttle service from Pisa and San Giuliano Terme will be available to reach it without worrying about on-site parking. The fair will include the presence of local agricultural and hotel institutes. There will be food and wine stands, associations and a cake with bischeri competition. New features this year include local pie-inspired ice cream and a picnic area. And again, you will be able to see an exhibition of carriages and agricultural tools, the Arboriculture and Agrilegna area, and on Saturday 27 April the woodcutter’s Pentathlon. There will also be a day organized for older people and a tree climbing area with courses and workshops. On Sunday 28th, residents of the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme will be able to enter for free, upon showing a valid document certifying their residence.

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April, Ponsacco becomes the capital of independent literature with ‘A lot of books’ at Villa Elisa. Ten publishing houses will bring their latest releases to the public, while local authors will talk about their works in a rich calendar of presentations. The event, promoted by the Ponsacco culture department and the Pontedera Foundation for Culture, also includes a competition for schools and an awards ceremony at the Odeon Theater in Ponsacco. The program offers presentations, workshops for children and readings for all ages. There will also be space for reviews of local authors, awards ceremonies and screenings of documentaries on the history and excellence of Ponsacco.

After the euphoria for the Vespa, Pontedera welcomes another motor-themed initiative. This is the Motor Expo, until Sunday 28 April – included – in the area outside the Cineplex. The 17th edition promises days of adrenaline and fun during which, in addition to the vast commercial exhibition, visitors will be able to admire motorbikes transformed by Italian tuners, vintage cars and motorbikes, and shows with famous stuntmen. Among the guests there will be Vanni Oddera and Team Daboot freestyle motocross, car stunts with Team Didi Bizzarro, and drift shows with the Drift taxi. The event will also feature a variety of products on display, from vehicles to t-shirts and motorcycle apparel. Every evening will be animated by live concerts, while the Tuscan motorcycle clubs will guarantee a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

The last of a series of evening events will be held on Saturday 27 April at the Bagni di Pisa Palace & Thermal Spa: the perfect combination of leisure, relaxation and discovery of a fascinating and elegant historical place, chosen in 1743 by the Grand Duke of Tuscany as a summer residence . The program includes an aperitif with tasting of local products and Tuscan finger foods, fresh fruit and small desserts, with gluten-free options available. Guests will have access to the indoor and outdoor thermal pools, with hydromassages, and will receive a complete spa kit. The evening will be accompanied by lounge music, and a relaxation area will be set up in the covered outdoor swimming pool.

The Circolo Arci ‘Il Fortino’ in Marina di Pisa will open its doors on Sunday 28 April to a free entry initiative dedicated to reuse and charity. The Fortino market will be an opportunity to exchange, sell or donate clothes and accessories in view of the spring wardrobe change. During the event shopping bags will be collected, the proceeds of which will be donated to charity to help the Palestinian population. It will also be possible to deliver ruined clothes to be disposed of. The market will be accompanied by good music, street food and a festive atmosphere. The event aims to combat textile waste and the environmental impact of fast fashion.

An evocative boat trip along the river, starting from Scalo Roncioni to its mouth at Bocca d’Arno, full of ancient stories and picturesque tales of ships that plied the waters of the river, forgotten heroes and tales of love, as well as the mullets that they escaped the fishermen’s nets. The itinerary, which will be covered on Sunday 28 April, includes a guided tour, a boat ride and an aperitif.

Saturday 27 April, at the ARCI Balalaika Club in Pisa, a day to understand a cross-section of current events with the screening of the film ‘Il Testimone’, followed by a debate moderated by Alessandro Luzzi of the Bolgan Studies and Health Association. The debate will see the participation of Vincenzo Lorusso, Oleg Akimov, Enrico Fiorini, Tatiana Santi and Marco Santero. Current events in the republics of Donbass, Lugansk and Donetsk will be addressed, with historical and current insights through the docu-film. Personal testimonies, direct experiences and analyzes of the economic implications of the conflict will be the focus of the discussion.
