Shock and dismay at the Carabinieri Marshals School in Florence due to the tragic gesture of a young student who took her own life on Monday by shooting herself with her service pistol.
The drama took place around lunchtime in one of the rooms of the school. The alarm was raised by some fellow soldiers who came running after hearing the shot but were unable to enter the room, which the girl had locked from the inside. The rescue efforts were useless, there was nothing that could be done for the young woman.
The victim’s friends and colleagues are shocked and cannot understand what happened. “She never showed any problems or inconveniences such as to suggest such a gesture – declared some friends, heard by the investigators – we were very close, she never confided anything worrying to us”.
Even from an academic and disciplinary point of view, the 25-year-old was considered a model, with excellent grades and results. No note or message that could justify her insane gesture.

The body has been seized and an autopsy will be carried out in the next few hours. The Carabinieri are analyzing the victim’s cell phone to look for any clues that could shed light on the reasons for the tragic gesture.
The young woman was attending the second year of the course at the School and would have finished the training cycle in a few weeks. A tragedy that leaves the Carabinieri astonished and has caused deep dismay throughout the city.
