“Ravenna continues to pay Hera dearly for a poor waste service thanks to the complicit collaboration of the de Pascale Administration. This is what emerges from the previews of the competent councilor, Gianandrea “Giangi” Baroncini. In the Council Commission you announced that the Tari will increase by 8% in the Municipality of Ravenna. An increase that will affect both families and companies. This is an additional increase: last year the majority had already increased the Tari, the proceeds of which are passed on to Hera, the concessionaire for the “disservice”. It certainly wasn’t the only increase. IMU, IRPEF, tourist tax, tax on land occupation, as well as the so-called extra-tax “taxes”, were all increased last year. And the year before the Tari had increased again: between 2021 and 2022 it had seen an increase of 6.5% (UIL processing for an average Ravenna family of 4 people).
Ravenna in the Municipality was (and remains) totally against it. We had already raised the alarm last year believing «It is essential not to add a push from the Administration to the increase in inflation with the increase in taxes». De Pascale & co. they didn’t take it into account. Far from the elections, far from the heart… We remember well the Budget Councilor declaiming, while everything was increasing (except salaries), that he couldn’t see «problems, nor particular differences between our city and elsewhere». As you will remember, Ravenna hit national records for price increases. And now, only now, they pretend to notice. But it’s the final insult. Baroncini justifies the growth of the Tari by saying that «Inflation is a determining factor in the increase in the cost of services». Thus the circle closes. The cost of living increases with the decisive “contribution” of the increases decided by the Council and the latter, which had previously denied its existence, takes note of it to justify a further increase. To shoot in Hera…
Moreover, when it comes to waste, the majority have become accustomed to making fun of citizens. Let’s think about the TARI exemption for flood victims paid with the donations that arrived from all over Italy for the flood victims. But not to give Hera some money obviously. Ravenna in the Municipality was against it: «If the Municipality truly intends to exempt those damaged by the flood from TARI, it should do so with transparent use of the resources actually at its disposal, adopting the appropriate budget changes. Donations cannot be used to compensate the Municipality for lost revenues». Obviously the majority imposed their will and took donations donated with a different purpose, that is, literally “to give support to the families and entities affected by the flood”.
On the other hand (so to speak) all citizens found waste bins at home. Without that famous punctual rate that is paid based on actual consumption, with discounts for those who differentiate more. It goes without saying that the fear (strong, given the precedents) is that, when we finally get there, the Council will take the opportunity to give a further upward push to the costs we have to bear for a service perceived by the majority of citizens as unsatisfactory and, moreover, not capable of producing the verbally sought results.
Like Ravenna in the Municipality we confirm the opinion that we have already expressed several times regarding municipal policies regarding waste management: «In our opinion, the whole approach to the waste system in Ravenna is wrong and, from year to year, citizens continue to pay for the inefficiencies of the management system». In short, what was found in previous years also applies to this year: the cost increases as the service worsens!”
