Dardo has been missing for a week now, and it was immediately ‘tam tam’ on Facebook. A crossroads of announcements and shares, to find this two and a half year old hound who seems to have vanished after seven days. A story within a story, which goes beyond the still heartfelt appeals that crowd Facebook in the event of the loss of one’s beloved pet. Because Dardo belonged to Alessandro Minardi, a mechanic who died in a motorcycle accident in the Codma area, in Rosciano di Fano, in September 2021.
After that tragedy, Dardo was immediately taken care of by the Melampo kennel, but his daughter Erica worked to adopt him as soon as she could. He had been with her for a few months, but has now run away from her house in Via Roma. Shortly afterwards he was reported heading towards the highway, only to then lose sight of him not far from the motorway toll booth.
“The following days – explained Melampo – the reports were few and not certain. It could be anywhere. He is a good and friendly dog, not suitable for hunting and scared. If spotted, he should not be chased but reported immediately to the number 379 2527679 or 3477750518. There is a reward for anyone who reports it with a photograph”.
During this difficult week the owner, together with the Melampo volunteers and many other people, shared the appeal and continued to look for it everywhere. The thermal drone was also used for a more in-depth search, flyers were posted and food points were created in the hope of attracting Dardo’s attention. But nothing to do. “Now the most important thing – they concluded from Melampo – is to know that he is well, to spread the news more and more and to have reports in order to concentrate on searches in a specific area. Plus he has a microchip. If anyone has taken him, take him back to his family.”
