The CGIL Public Function Calabria expresses great satisfaction with the result achieved after 15 years which has finally given serenity and certainty to the 51 workers of Azienda Calabria Lavoro who signed the permanent contract yesterday.
«A very long dispute which gives the measure of how much the various forms of precarious employment provided for by the current regulations also concern the public administration. The story of these workers starts from afar, since 2008, when they were selected among the best graduates to be retained in Calabria with a temporary internship experience. Often the temporary becomes permanent and, in fact, these young people have grown up and become adults by going through all the types of existing atypical and precarious contracts”, declared Alessandra Baldari and Ferdinando Bruno Schipano, respectively general and regional secretary of Fp CGIL.
«And so between a Co. co. pro and then a Co. co. co. and a fixed-term contract, 15 years of anguish, of uncertainty, of a lack of future to imagine, despite the daily work in which they made their professionalism available. The FP Cgil which has supported them in this long time has never given up on continuing the discussion, pressing the institutional and managerial levels that have alternated, proposing legitimate solutions and organizing moments of mobilization until the current administration, to which attention is recognized for these workers and these workers and determination in overcoming the last obstacles by identifying regulatory solutions and financial resources, in a close and constant confrontation with the trade unions has put an end to an unseemly condition by restoring dignity to the best graduates of many years ago,” they asserted.
For the FP Cgil Calabria which supported and accompanied them on this long journey it was a day of satisfaction, also full of a lot of emotion. «But it’s not over, we will soon be committed to demanding the transformation of the hourly regime into full time for the good functioning of the company and to give complete satisfaction to all its workers.
