“From the Mother Goddess to San Simplicio”: a series of meetings organized by the Lions in Olbia

Olbia and its thousand-year history, told through #a #series of conferences held by expert archaeologists, and guided visits to little-known sites excluded from the usual routes, will be at the center of the event “From the #Mother #Goddess to #San Simplicio”, #organized by #Lions Club #Olbia. # The #series of #meetings is sponsored by the Municipality.

«For the club this is #a notable organizational effort – the association comments – which will allow us to retrace the five thousand years of history of the city and its territory and disseminate and enhance its priceless archaeological heritage, starting from the Neolithic and crossing eras and age to reach the threshold of modernity”.

Dr. Paola Mancini opened the three archaeological days on Friday 3 May with the conference “From prehistory to protohistory” followed by #a guided tour, starting at 3pm, to the Sacred Well of Sa Testa and the Nuraghe Paule Lada.

Saturday 4 May will be the turn of Rubens D’Oriano’s report dedicated to “The Historical Age”: the archaeologist will be the precious guide to the visit of the Punic tower located in Porto Rotondo.

The cycle closes with Doctor Agostino Amucano: his studies will take us to the “Middle Ages” of our territory and then, again from 3pm, to the discovery of the Tower of Sa Istrana, in the #Olbia countryside.
