Important test bed for Asd DRS – #Drone Racing Sardinia based in Abbasanta.
This weekend the team made up of the #best #Sardinian drone racing #pilots will be busy in #Fano for the second stage of the Italian Cup.
The event is organized by DRF, the first #Drone Racing sports association born in Italy. # The association based in Guilcier was born in 2020 and today has 26 members from all over Sardinia: Olbia, Alghero, Cagliari and Oristano for example. # And every weekend they reach Abbasanta to train at the flying field where a regulation runway is set up.
Soon there will also be the installation of safety nets and a control system to be able to propose events open to the public and to be able to organize a regional championship in the OPEN category.
The Team DRS drivers registered in the national championship are: Manuel Masala (Olbia), Stefano Sannia (Oristano), Michele Vinci (Abbasanta), Giacomo Vincentelli (Santa Teresa di Gallura), Silvio Valmaggia (Santa Teresa di Gallura), Kiriakos Trokas ( Olbia) and Valerio Orlandi (Olbia).
Two days of racing in Fano: it starts on April 27th with qualifying. # Each driver will have the opportunity to race to achieve the #best time and a driver ranking will be drawn up based on the results obtained. # The first 16 will be the only ones able to compete in the actual competitions which will be held on April 28th.
«We are thrilled to participate in the national #Drone Racing championship and to represent our land in this competition – explains Michele Vinci, president of the Asd DRS -. # I am proud of the commitment and dedication that our #pilots have shown and I am sure that we will assert ourselves”.
Drone racing is an exciting, adrenaline-filled sport where expert #pilots fly drones reaching speeds of up to 180 km/h through intricate and challenging courses. # Using cameras mounted on home-built drones, #pilots view a first-person perspective in real time, offering an immersive experience similar to that of being on board the drone itself.
