Descriptive text here

The Italy Junior qualifying match for the 2024 European Championships has just ended at the Rimini Fair, which delivered the silver medal into the hands of a wonderful Italy.

Italy, made up of Tommaso Brugnami, Manuel Betterera, Pietro Mazzola, Diego Vazzola and Simone Speranza, competed in the second and penultimate divisions and had to wait until recently for the conclusion of the Division 3 race to find out the outcome of his splendid performance. A unique emotion to see such a united team that, as one, managed to gain a place on the podium at home.

Italy Junior’s match at the European Championships in Rimini 2024

Horse with pommels

The first of the Italians to break the ice on the match pitch is Diego Vazzola, which closes an exercise with a good rhythm with only a few small flaws, the score of which is excellent: 13,100. Manuel Beretta he gets on the apparatus to do well and this is demonstrated by the 8.6 execution of his score of 13,200. Acclaimed by the Italian public present at the race, Tommaso Brugnami concludes the third exercise of the rotation and ensures Italy a 13.033. Last blue on the pitch Pietro Mazzola, which gets a 12.866 which keeps the level of the Italian rotation high; his score, however, is discarded in favor of the higher scores of his teammates.

The partial total of Italia Junior after the first rotation is 39,333.

Rings

He climbs first to the castle of rings Manuel Beretta. The execution of his exercise was excellent, with a score of 4.2 D, which earned Italy 12,900 but was not considered for the team score because it was lower than that of his teammates. Very good exercise Diego Vazzoladirtied only by a handstand that was not perfectly held, but concluded with an exit almost nailed to the mat (13,000). Simone Speranza he closes an exercise with 12,933 points, the result of a masterly race and dirtied only by a big step on the finish line. To finish the rotation Tommaso Brugnami; some slight oscillations in his exercise which do not greatly affect his excellent 13,300.

The partial total of Italia Junior after the second rotation is 78,566.

Vaulting

Nailed the jump to the ground Pietro Mazzola, which opens the blue rotation on the table with an excellent 13,866. There is fear for the foul arrival of Manuel Beretta from Kasamatsu (12,766), but the athlete from Brescia returns to the bench walking normally and seems to be fine. This is followed by the superlatives of two vault jumps Tommaso Brugnami: the man from the Marche manages to obtain 14.333 in the first jump (useful for the team score) and 14.300 in the second, valid for calculating the average on vault of 14.316, with which he takes the lead in the apparatus rankings. Simone Speranza closes Italy’s rotation with an excellent jump of 14,000 net points.

The partial total of Italia Junior after the third rotation and at the halfway point of the match is 120,765a score that places the team in second place, just a few tenths behind France.

Even parallels

Excellent start for the Italians on parallel bars Manuel Berettawho concludes the exercise with a good double pike and makes up for the mistake of the previous rotation with a score of 12.833. Pietro Mazzola he responds also present in this tool and puts 12,700 on file for the team and his partial staff, which he and the blue team do not accept. Once asked the appeal, his score becomes a 13,000. He nails his exit double pike to the ground Tommaso Brugnami, whose exercise is judged with 12,966 points. Too bad for a handstand that wasn’t held very well which brings some small deductions to the otherwise excellent exercise Diego Vazzola (12,700).

The partial total of Italia Junior after the fourth rotation is 159,564; Italy is still behind France, after Mazzola’s appeal by a whisker.

Bar

At the barre there are four good exercises by the Azzurri, of which the best is that of Manuel Beretta. The Italian rejoices after being pinned to the ground and completes an exercise that closes Italy’s rotation with 13,300. Before him they followed one another on the tool Pietro Mazzola with 12,700, the linear exercise of Diego Vazzola from 13.133 and 12.766 of Tommaso Brugnami.

The partial of Italia Junior after the fifth and penultimate rotation is 198,730 points.

Free Body

Italy ends its competition on floor exercise. Diego Vazzola diagonal after diagonal is clean and precise and gets 13,200. The free body of is very elegant Simone Speranza; the blue player places one foot off the platform in the first diagonal, but then completes an exemplary exercise worth 13,400. Manuel Beretta he decides to close his race in style with a masterful exercise of 13,900. Increase the dose Tommaso Brugnami with diagonals scored with surgical precision that earned Italy a 14,200 which officially sealed the overtaking of France and provisional first place.

The total score of the Italians at the end of the match is therefore: 240,230 points, which marks the definitive overtaking of France. The match is a match, however, and England inserts the jab in the last division. The English team, which rotated in the same apparatus order as Italy in the last division, arrives in the last rotation on floor exercise just a whisker away (0.263 tenths) from the Italian score. Everything was decided on floor exercise, where Great Britain earned team gold just 28 cents behind the Azzurri.

Both Brugnami (80.565) and Beretta (78.899) closed their All-Around race in an excellent way and qualified brilliantly for the final on Sunday 28 April. It doesn’t end here, however: we will see Italia Junior again involved in many apparatus finals in these 2024 European Championships also on Saturday 27 April on SportFaceTV.
