It has already happened, in the past months, that some dispensers of bags for collecting dog waste remained empty for a few days. Now, however, the phenomenon seems to be more far-reaching: we have received reports from various neighborhoods of the city. And also from the center and the Città Alta. “There haven’t been any in the former Magrini area for more than a month – a reader writes –”.
Aprica’s response
Aprica, the company that deals with waste management in the city, responds to the reports without providing too many details: “We will shortly supply the dispensers for dog waste,” he writes.
«Some take advantage of it»
The Councilor for the Environment, Stefano Zenoni, explained at the beginning of the month: «Before I even arrived, dispensers of dog bags were positioned in strategic points of the city. There are 212 of them. In light of the reports, I increased their supply from one to three times a week. What is certain is that if an owner takes advantage of the situation to stock up, then there are none for those who really need it in a moment of emergency. Furthermore, a few years ago an awareness campaign was carried out through posters and posts.”
Zenoni then admits: «It’s true, in recent months we have not been particularly active on the topic. One of the main problems is linked to the 2024 tender for waste management in Bergamo, which could lead to a change of manager.”
