Variation of the Tremezzina, work will resume by May 10th. This is what was decided in the discussion table between Anas and the company working on the fundamental variant for the Como area. The meeting, which began at midday, ended after 6pm. At the beginning there was the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini.

“Given the particularity of the situation, certainties are needed for the whole territory – said Salvini. Who then confirmed that he “is available to facilitate the search for solutions”. Salvini reiterated maximum attention to the dossier: he will be on site by the first week of May to verify the situation in person.

The construction site stopped last week after the companies communicated to Anas. The stop was linked to the increase in costs for disposing of excavation materials. “In relation to the critical issues that emerged, shared solutions were identified so as to allow the immediate resumption of excavation works in the tunnels at the Colonno junction and the related transport of materials containing natural hydrocarbons to the Anas construction site of the Tirano variant. These activities will resume within the first ten days of next May”, confirmed Anas.

Today’s summit also analyzed the issue of the excavations at the Griante junction, the northern junction of the Variante, where “due to the presence of natural arsenic – Anas further specifies – it was necessary to carry out a series of regulatory and approval steps also by of the territorially competent bodies for the definition of the concentration percentages of the substance, preparatory for the identification of authorized landfills and environmental recovery plants”.

“In today’s meeting it emerged that to restart the excavation works at the Griante junction, a further technical discussion between Anas and the company is necessary, which will be carried out following a supplementary technical investigation, to guarantee the resumption in the minimum compatible times with the environmental authorizations to be renewed – concludes Anas – The construction site remains active with all the other works (concrete casting in the sections of tunnels already excavated and further works at the Colonno junction)”.
