Culture – The paper collecting market will be under the porticoes of Palazzo dei Priori – Among the rare books on display will also be the original copy of the very rare “Viterbo dal 1789 al 1870″ by Giuseppe Signorelli”

Viterbo – (pc) – PaperOnly, the paper collecting market, returns today to the town square, under the porticoes of Palazzo dei Priori, with many books of all kinds, prints, lithographs and engravings, on the occasion of the long holiday period which goes from April 25th until Wednesday May 1st.

In addition to the beautiful lithographs, the prints and engravings relating to fashion, Italian cities, animals, typical costumes of the various Italian regions and ancient national and international topographical maps will make a good impression on the exhibitors’ counters.

Among the many books important and rare concerning the history of the city of Viterbo stands out, among others, that of Giuseppe Signorelli entitled “Viterbo dal 1789 al 1870” printed in 1914 by the “Minissi & Borghesi” printing plant. It tells us the history of our city with respect to the effects of the French Revolution, the reaction, the Napoleonic government, the restoration, the Roman Republic. A rare pearl, this, which contains a lot of news unknown to many. Like, for example, the news of the existence of the popular anthem set to music by the young maestro Prospero Selli which “became the song of the Risorgimento for the people of Viterbo”. Prospero Selli was a “composer, conductor, pianist and violinist and made his debut with tragic melodrama Medea in Corinth at the Apollo Theater in Rome on 4 February 1839″.

Viterbo – Paperonly in Piazza del Comune

The presence of “The mint and the cross” on the life of Santa Rosa and the original copy of “Viterbo nei his monuments” by Andrea Scriattoli published in 1920 and then many other numerous out-of-commerce works concerning the history of the city of Viterbo and of the whole province. Truly an opportunity not to be missed.

There will be something for all tastes. A now consolidated event for all reading enthusiasts and for all collectors who will be able to easily and comfortably entertain themselves among the stalls, in search of the paper document they have been looking for for a long time and have finally found.

PaperOnly is an initiative of high cultural level, organized by the cultural association Take Off, thanks also to the availability of the municipal administration which granted the use of the porticoes of Piazza del Comune sheltered from the rain and wind of these days.
