Two thousand and two hundred students and companions, four hundred more than last year. Thirty-two educational institutions and boarding schools for an event that promises to be lively and engaging, ready to express sportsmanship and hospitality in all the most intense shades of the colors of the South. Presented this afternoon, in the Aula Magna of the National Boarding School “P. Galluppi”, the XVI edition of the Convittiadi, hosted for the second consecutive year in Calabria, in the week from 28 April to 5 May.

The event, which involves competitions in numerous sports disciplines, is organized again by National Boarding School “P. Galluppi”, directed by professor Stefania Cinzia Scozzafavathanks to the appreciation recorded for last year’s organizational competence.
This year too, the project was largely financed by the Education Department of the Calabria Region, with strong input from the vice-president Giuseppina Princi and the president of the Budget Commission, Antonio Montuoro.
Presenting the details of the event, in addition to the manager Scozzafava, ithe president of the Province of Catanzaro Amedeo Mormile, the mayor of Catanzaro Nicola Fiorita, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo Valentia, Pietro Falbo. Among those present, in addition to a representative of the athletes of the Convitto, also the other institutional and private partners who made a contribution to the success of the event, as well as the Catanzaro Councilor for Culture Donatella Monteverdithe mayor of Girifalco Pietrantonio Cristofaro, and other administrators of the municipalities involved. The president of the regional council should also have been present, Filippo Mancusowho was unable to attend, the director Scozzafava addressed greetings from the Convitto at the opening of the works.
Also connected, President of Agnes, Anna Maria Zilli, who reiterated the importance of the “Convittiadi” throughout Italy and praised the commitment of the Convitto Galluppi of Catanzaro, also highlighting the perfect organization last year. “We are sure that we will experience another magnificent week here in Calabria,” she said.
