The election campaign gets underway Andrew Virgil focuses on five words, this is his statement: “Identity, creativity, sustainability, care and relationship. These are the five key words around which the vision I have of Cremona for the coming years revolves. Five words that will mark this new political season and that will allow me to share with you the Cremona that I imagine, enclosing within them the proposals, the main commitments that, looking to the future, I make towards all of you.
Identity: it is our essence, it tells us who we are today, but also who we want to be tomorrow, here in Cremona and in the world. Our excellences start from deep roots, our traditions are the fruit of a virtuous process of innovation.
Creativity: it means supporting renewal, in the business world, in public offices, in culture, in welfare. New technologies are an important part of this change: beyond knowing how to do, it is necessary to know how to be. Creative intuition, judgment, critical spirit, empathy are exquisitely human qualities that no artificial intelligence will be able to replicate.
Sustainability: the ecological and energy transition must be at the center of our agenda. We must accompany our businesses, the productive world, the transformation processes underway in our city without ideological approaches, but with great concreteness, towards growth in line with environmental challenges.
Treatment: fragility must increasingly become a common experience for all of us in different phases of our lives. We need skills and sensitivity that can accompany us. The role of a local government must be to generate networks between public institutions and private entities. The third sector in its various forms is a fundamental resource for understanding needs and identifying innovative solutions.
Relation: these are the exchanges and connections that must take place between people and people, but also between people and institutions and between territory and territories. Cremona as the capital municipality must be the driving force of the strategic projects of our territory”.
