Legnano the richest, Canegrate the “Cinderella”: here is the 2022 income map in the Legnanese area

Also in 2022 Legnano was the richest municipality and Canegrate was the Cinderella of Legnanese, if we can talk about Cinderella given that in our territory the average income in all municipalities is in line with the Italian average of 23,650 euros. The “ranking” of the Scrooge municipalities is written by the data released by the Ministry of Economy and Financewhich on Tuesday 23 April released the statistical analysis relating to the tax returns of natural persons and VAT returns submitted in 2023 for the 2022 tax year.

All in all in Italy the taxpayers who declared Irpef income for 2021 were around 42 millionfor a total declared income of 970.2 billion euros: we are therefore talking about an average value of 23,650 euros, an increase of 4.9% compared to the average total income declared the previous year. The territorial analysis confirms that the region with the highest overall average income is Lombardy (27,890 euros), while Calabria has the lowest average income (17,160 euros).

Starting from municipal data made available by the Department of Finance, LegnanoNews analyzed the situation in the municipalities of the Legnano area on the basis of the taxable income per capita of the taxpayers. And it turned out that Legnano is the richest municipality in the area with a per capita taxable income of 27,717.95 euroswhile Canegrate, where the taxable income per capita drops to 23,536.28 euros, is the “poorest” town in the area, in a situation that is however substantially uniformproof of this is that the difference between one municipality and another in many cases measures hundreds, if not tens, of euros.

In our territory there are 141,971 taxpayers who have fulfilled the declaration obligation, directly through the presentation of the declaration forms or indirectly through the declaration of withholding agents: 2,044 more than in the 2021 tax year, an increase of 1.5% and in line with the situation found at national level, where the total number of taxpayers is growing by 1.3%. The total declared income was 3,623,381,128, an increase of 6.06% compared to the 2021 tax yearalso in this case in line with the 6.3% growth recorded at a national level.

The municipality where the average income increased most significantly compared to 2021 is San Giorgio su Legnanowhere the growth was 5.16%: a figure however substantially in line with those of Legnano (+5.15%) and Dairago (+5.14%). The most limited increase, however, is that recorded in San Vittore Olonawhere the increase stopped at 3.45%.

Legnano is also the municipality with the most Scrooges, i.e. with the highest percentage of taxpayers declaring incomes exceeding 120 thousand euros compared to the total: in the City of Northern Italy there are 774 taxpayers in the highest bracket, or 1.72% of the total. In all in the territory they are 5,060, or 3.6% of the total, taxpayers who declare an income exceeding 75 thousand euros.
