The 2024 edition of Earth Day promoted by Forte di Bard involved over 800 primary and lower secondary school students from all over the Aosta Valley. The days of 22 and 23 April saw a succession of educational workshops, shows and animations dedicated to the theme of this edition, the water resource, and were also an opportunity for the classes to visit the exhibition projects dedicated to the environment and climate challenges involving the Planet promoted by Forte: the new edition of the photographic exhibition Wildlife Photographer of the Years and the project on the impacts of a changing climate promoted with Agence France-Presse, There’s no more time, which will continue throughout the spring. Over the course of the two days, the students attended an appreciated show created for the occasion by Leo Scienza, a cultural association from Bologna, and were involved in the educational workshops created in collaboration with CVA, Staedtler, partner of the event, and by the students of Isiltp Electronics and Electrotechnics high school in Verrès.

The event, promoted for the third year by Forte with a growing involvement of the world of schools, is part of the events promoted worldwide for Earth Day which unites up to a billion people every year in the 193 United Nations countries, with the primary objective of celebrating the Earth and promoting its protection, calling public opinion to an active commitment to the Planet.

During the two days, awards were also given to the works created by the classes in recent months based on this year’s theme which will remain on display to the public inside the fortress chapel until Sunday 5 May.

The awarded schools

Monday 22 April

1st prize ex aequo for class 3B Einaudi primary school of Aosta and the first class of Aymavilles primary school.

2nd prize ex aequo for the 1B class of the Prati Nuovi primary school in Pont-Saint-Martin and the third, fourth and fifth classes of the Perloz primary school.

3rd prize ex aequo for the Montjovet Primary School and the fifth class of the Aymavilles Primary School.

A special mention was awarded to Hône Primary School for the work done by the entire school.

Tuesday 23 April

1st prize ex aequo for the 2B class of the Einaudi primary school in Aosta and the 2E class of the Pont-Saint-Martin middle school.

2nd prize ex aequo for the first class of the Donnas primary school and for the 1C class of the Pont-Saint-Martin middle school.

3rd prize ex aequo for the second class of the Verrès primary school and the 1B class of the Pont-Saint-Martin middle school.
